Loss of the use of the Hands
This covers any mobility impairment the result of which is a loss of the ability to use the hands to control an input device. A loss of limb(s) or paralysis may result from a trauma-related condition, for example a spinal cord injury resulting from an accident; or may be the result of a disease or a birth-related condition.
The impact on accessibility of e-learning and multimedia relates to the need to rely on an alternative input device in order to control the computer. Reduced concentration and stamina in terms of physical effort required to operate a computer interface may also cause access barriers.
